The error basically indicates that no database driver has been properly
loaded, as is obvious.
Make sure your extensions directory is properly set in your php.ini file
(extension_dir). Not only do you have to set this yourself, but you also
have to make sure you're using the right slashes. "c:/php/ext" is a good
default value if that's where PHP is installed (c:\php) under Windows.
Also, make sure the mysql.dll or mysqli.dll files are present in the above
folder, and that the corresponding LoadModule lines are not commented out
with the semicolon.

I am having some difficulties setting up MediaWiki 1.7.1. I'm using IIS
5.1 as well as MySQL and PHP on a Windows server. Whenever I try to
access the configuration screen through my local domain, I get the following
message:
Checking environment...
Please include all of the lines below when reporting
installation problems.
PHP 5.1.4 installed Could not find a suitable database
driver!
For MySQL, compile PHP using --with-mysql, or install the
mysql.so module
For PostgreSQL, compile PHP using --with-pgsql, or install the
pgsql.so module
I have read some troubleshooting guides online and have verified the
following:
1) The mysql.dll file was in the PHP modules folder.
2) Activated mysql.dll in the php.ini file.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
