Thanks for sharing your experience, Gary.
... but I get NO "Page | Subpage" displayed anywhere, and certainly not below the title anywhere in my MediaWiki v1.10.0.
Does anyone have any links to what you're looking at looks like?
Also, Daniel, do you have any extensions installed? Let us know what [[special:version]] says.
Thanks.

A search for "subpage" on MediaWiki.org returns, among the top three hits, http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:%24wgNamespacesWithSubpages and http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:LocalSettings.php#Enabling_subpages.
In the absence of a decent page explaining it, I'll fill in, in brief, that when "subpages" are enabled for a namespace, MediaWiki considers, e.g. "Page/Subpage" in a title to be more meaningful; it will show little "breadcrumb" navigation links at the top of the page.
Note that whether or not subpages are enabled, one can find all titles matching a pattern, e.g. "Page/*" using Special:Prefixindex.

As in the breadcrumbs that show up on this page:

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki/fr
on that subpage, you have a link to the up-page MediaWiki just below the "article" tab ( it looks like this : "< MediaWiki")
