Dear Kevin, The patch does not work as such. I have identified the problem: contrarily to what my support sweared, there were upgrades in MySQL and PHP and the problems date from that date. PHP is now 5.5.10. and MySQL is 5.5.36.
I do not want to run into new difficulties in asking them to restore previous versions which I do not know. What I plan to do is to update MediaWiki and to move to another hosting provider. However I have more than 100 wikis at different stages and plan more.
My idea was to use symlinks to a single master version with local LocalSettings.php file for each Wiki. However some of my wikis are using MySQL and other SQLite and http://www.steverumberg.com/wiki/index.php?title=WikiHelp_-_Method_Two says that I want to use a single base. Is that mandatory or just because Steve wanted to do that. I understand that the database is entirely and uniquely defined in each LocalSetting.php file?
Thank you very much for the help. jfc
