I'd like to put up "pseudo-links" that when clicked, don't go to another specified page, but rather do a search for some given text and present a page of search results. Something like
"When talking about the [[Autosearch:Edit>Paste Paste]] control"
would show up as
"When talking about the Paste control"
and clicking on the Paste link would display the hits on a search of "Edit>Paste" in the wiki.
Haven't been able to find anything yet, though.
Thanks, Ken
create a template named (for instance) Template:SearchThis with this code :
<span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:Special:Search|search={{{1}}}|fulltext=Search}} {{{2}}}]</span>
then insert "When talking about the {{SearchThis|Edit>Paste|Paste}} control" -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Any-%22combination-link-search%22-in-MW--t1815375.html... Sent from the WikiMedia General forum at Nabble.com.
Or just type [[Special:Search/Edit>Paste|paste]]

Important Note : the exact code is (I made a little mistake)
<span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:Special:Search|search={{{1}}}&fulltext=Search}} {{{2}}}]</span>
Note 2 : the Edit>Page won't work because of the ''>'' Note 3 : the {{fullurl...}} work with 1.6.7, not with 1.5.8. I don't know about 1.6.x < 1.6.7 -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Any-%22combination-link-search%22-in-MW--t1815375.html... Sent from the WikiMedia General forum at Nabble.com.
