I had the same problem - You will most likely need to
split up the SQL into
smaller packages to execute with PHPMyAdmin.
I wish there were an option to make the database dump in PHPMyAdmin
automatically do this, but so far haven't heard of any. Anyone who knows of
a workaround?
Best wishes,
Morten :-)

Subject: [Mediawiki-l] backup SQL database
Hello,
Before upgrading from mediawiki 1.3.9 to the lastest version, I need to
backup the SQL database.
I did it with phpmyadmin : I got an SQL text file of 30M.
I tried to read it back ... too big says some php script, without saying
how to cure this problem.
I suppose some of you have already have this problem.
(I tried to read MySql and PhpMyadmin docs ... I had quickly been lost)
Thanks
François Colonna
