I have been trying to implement this extension. Much seems to be going OK, but I cannot display the feed (or subscribe to it successfully.) The main problem seems to be that the feed XML has a blank line at the beginning. However, there are other issues. The Apache2 error log shows the following Undefined properties:
* NewsChannel::$newsWikiExcludeCategory * NewsChannel::$authorizedEditors
and undefined variables:
* $wbNewsChannelExportTextOnly
all in NewsChannel_body.php
The blank line shows up in the Recent Changes feed, also.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hola Enrique You can Export all pages inside a category from http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Especial:Exportar (note it's not recursive!) You can't filter on import per the categories the pages belong to, but they could be deleted afterwards using pywikipediabot.
A different option would be using some offline software such as http://www.wiki-web.es/mediawiki-offline-reader/
The blank line will usually be due to an extra blank line at the end of a file in the extension, or sometimes in your LocalSettings.php
Try trimming off the ?> from the end of the extension files; extra spaces/newlines after of can be problematic and it's not really needed.
