Hi,
A client of mine (a small business) wants to be able to modify and maintain the content of their website themselves and minimise their dependence on web developers. I've suggested that they consider using a wiki (I mentioned mediawiki) however they would need the site to be configured and customized for the look they want (after basic LAMP installation).
They are ready to pay (decent rates) for someone who knows what they are doing, so I'm looking for expressions of interest; someone with experience in mediawiki admin and skin customisation. I would expect any work that added to mediawiki functionality including new skins to be contributed back to the mediawiki project.
Thanks for you consideration, Simon

While I don't consider myself qualified, I know using MediaWiki as a CMS has been mentioned several times in this list. Search the archieves.

Hi Simon,
There have been other similar requests in the past. People who want to sponsor particular mediawiki development might want to post announcements like this to a developer's project board. See for example : http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Developer_project_board

Well, I only created it yesterday. I guess since I brought it to the party, I'd better go through the formalities. Wikitech, Mediawiki project board. Project board, wikitech.
If you think this is a terrible idea, you can leave me a burnt cookie or something. SJ
