Hi,
I'm trying to install mediawiki-1.4rc1 on fedora3 with Apache/2.0.53, PHP/4.3.8 and mysql 4.1.9. Installation freeze at ...
MediaWiki 1.4rc1 installation
Please include all of the lines below when reporting installation problems. Checking environment...
* PHP 4.3.8: ok * PHP server API is apache2handler; ok, using pretty URLs (index.php/Page_Title) * Have XML / Latin1-UTF-8 conversion support. * PHP's memory_limit is 8M. If this is too low, installation may fail! Attempting to raise limit to 20M... ok. * Have zlib support; enabling output compression. * Turck MMCache not installed, can't use object caching functions * Found ImageMagick: /usr/bin/convert; image thumbnailing will be enabled if you enable uploads. * Found GD graphics library built-in. * Installation directory: /home/wwwroot/Directory/wiki2 * Script URI path: /wiki2
I also notice that exactly at this point, Apache generates Segfault in error_log. $ tail -f /var/log/httpd/error_log [Tue Feb 22 12:41:38 2005] [notice] child pid 9802 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
I'm also running phpbb, phpnuke, phpmyadmin and other php apps on same server without any problems.
I also test installation with Apache/2.0.52 and got same error.
any help would be appreciated
Regards bruma

I believe [glancing at other people's quoted output] that the next thing the installer does after that is try to connect to the MySQL server. Have you looked in the log files for that to see if there is any corresponding error or activity?
