Hello all, today i have downloaded the current beta version and have seen that somebody already started a PostgreSQL port. Yes, i know, this one is outdated, but is there a plan to support other databases in the feature? According to the statements of some people in #mediawiki, it would make sense to integrate something like a layer with virtual functions: $dbr->getArticleText(); The function would do the job, retrieve the article in question from the database and return it to MW. This also would allow slightly different DDLs for every database type, using the advantages of the actual database. What is your opinion on this point?
