Hello All,
I am running MediaWiki 1.15.1 (PHP 5.2.4, MySQL 5.0.51a) on Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS.
Our Wiki is running just fine. We are wondering, however, if it is possible to protect the Sidebar from being edited by anyone who is not an Admin or Bureaucrat..
We simply don't want our regular users to be able to change the Sidebar at all - is this possible?

Pages in the MediaWiki namespace (including MediaWiki:Sidebar) can only be
edited by users with the editinterface right; by default, that's just admins. Have you checked whether other users actually can edit it on your wiki?

I am not aware that I changed something relevant in LocalSettings.php, and monobook.php exists in the skin directory. I did make some small changes in monobook.php (adding HTML tags), though, but since all other pages work well, I do not understand the reason of this error.

Are you on Unix? The file is called MonoBook.php (case sensitive).
Thank you, that helped. I had $wgValidSkinNames = array ("monobook", "MonoBook"); in the LocalSettings and removed the first "monobook". That did the job. Thanks!

Hi, I tried the following {{namespaceXY:pageXY#header}} in order to include only parts of an already existing article in another article. This seems not to work (the whole pageXY is included). Is there another way?
What I actually aim at is building up a glossary where single lines (probably under a certain header) can be reproduced in a different environment.
