i got this link from wikipedia home page.this page is transcluded page in home page. Usually templates are used for transcluding.But what is Wikipedia here

Wikipedia is the project namespace on Wikipedia. As it's a namespace {{Wikipedia:Whatever}} searchs for a page called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Whatever instead of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Wikipedia:Whatever

If we wanted to include a page from the Main namespace instead from the template one, we would use {{:Whatever}}

As why such page is used for being transcluded, that's a content decision, particular to the English wikipedia project.
