I know this has probably been asked before but my attempted searches of google and wikimedia help produced no results, nor a brief look at the archives (couldn't figure out how to search them).
Anyway, I'm trying to create a wiki which needs two pages associated with every article. For each article I want both a discussion page and an explanation page. While I could just require everyone creating a page X to also create exp_X this isn't particularly an elegant solution. Besides I would like to have the link to the explanation page in the same place on every page. I imagine one way to do this would be templates but it would be much nicer if I could create another tab like they have for talk.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

a very uneducated guess, but I imagine it should be easy to clone the discussion namespace and add another tab in the skin...
