That seems a shame, but help how? I don't think posting to this mailing list is appropriate.

Hi,
I do not know if this will help, but perhaps you should ready a plan in the event that you loose this fight:
1) a full off site backup of the database and wiki config(s). This will cover the eventuality that, in blocking your use of the YellowWiki name, or if a DMCA takedown (or it's equivalent in your Nation) is issued that prevent your access to site data. Be warned that if the judgment REALLY goes against you and you email this backup out of your nation, you might make your legal situation worse so consult an attorney before proving this backup to another person not affiliated with YellowWiki. Do this NOW; before the courts open on Monday as they might contact your ISP and get your data "frozen". 2) Get Legal Help ASAP. Perhaps you can convince an attorney to take your case Pro Bono. 3) an alternate domain, like phonewiki or find-a-number-wiki in the event that your content itself is not interdicted by the court but your use of the name "YellowWiki" is. Thanks Sam,
Good advice.
I am talking to solicitors in London - I just wanted to let you know that we are under threat.
Gary, Rosa and I met a few people on this list at Wikimania last year. It's not the right place to post this news - but we do need help. You can help build our defense against Yell and/or contribute some money to the legal fees.

You and the other wiki members are welcome to help improve Wikicompany (http://wikicompany.org) if this UK trademark case goes through. Both projects are very small, and need more people and content.

Such personal insults as yours also have no place here.
And, yes, it does hurt me and everyone else when people post what is basically spam here, because it wastes my time and degrades the quality of the MediaWiki discussion list.

Is there a place it does belong? And I agree with Hugh. My first post here, and I will say this one doesn't belong either, which makes me think I am on the wrong list. I want on the one where I can say, "How do I...?" and "What would be real cool is if...." This list has a bit too much traffic that is over my head for my tastes. And it seems mean! :)
I want the low traffic, laid back list. Oh, and a puppy.

There's no such thing as laid back in the wiki world, it seems. Dog eat dog environment.
Puppies? Bah. Vicious mutant ninja bunnies are back in fashion as 2006's most unreasonable demand.

Funny I swore the early arguments were for Savage Venusian Gophers. Or was it Swedish Vacuum Gaskets? I get so confused.......

I used to think I was going to make my living training these things, but they could never get that exploding smoke ball to work right, and the car got them every time.

Bunnies and cars are like gremlins and water; just don't do it. This tip, and others, can be found in my new book, "Rob's How To Raise Vicious Mutant Ninja Bunnies", price £29 from Waterstones.

Ah I missed that at my local Chapters. does the price include VAT for export to here in the wilds of Canada, where oddly enough we have some local wild rabbits. And this a very urban area. No doubt, they are vicious, but I can't tell if they're Ninjas or not.

Well I'm always game for a walk (stumble and fall) on the wild side. Or at least the absurd side of things. Having had a rabbit in the house (along with 3 cats, a salamander and a gecko, numerous fish - at various times). I can safely say I could never trust the rabbit. If the cage was accidentally left open - it disappeared - it showed amazing dexterity in climbing the basement stairs - it also terrorized the cat, so it was a savage beast. Unfortunately it passed, but the three cats remain. I figure the salamander was the craftiest - it totally disappeared without a trace.
Of course we could have been talking about - Scum-sucking toad-things from Hell (or at least Hoboken) - which would have been something else altogether.
Thanks for the shot of inanity and my chance to totally take to the extreme :)

PS Bunnies. WHY did it have to be bunnies?
