Is there an extension or an easy hack to add a custom anti-bot question to the user registration page for MediaWiki 1.18?
Thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron,

Hi Ron Yes, see Questy Captcha: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit#QuestyCaptcha You can create your own Q/A.
Also see:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SimpleAntiSpam This works sometimes also to prevent bots. It can also be altered to block the bot IP address for a small amount of time (optional).
If they still keep coming, you can change the ConfirmEdit type to "ReCaptcha, although I see bots break that one too sometimes but these will help.
