Hi,
I just installed my MW and try up to customize the interface (remove logo etc). I opened my LocalSettings file and added few new lines, but file cannot be saved and no changes took place. I contacted my host but they couldn't suggest anything.
Any clue to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance for your help and time.
Dimitar
If LocalSettings.php cannot be saved, it seems you do not have *write* privileges for the file and/or directory it resides in. Since you seem to be working on a hosted server this is not surprising. However you should not even have *read* privileges, since LocalSettings.php contains the database username and password. These should not be publicly viewable. It makes no sense to trust someone to read this file who you don't trust to edit it.
Either you have to be granted full read/write privileges for LocalSettings.php ("you" meaning *you*, not the whole world), or you have to ask your host to make the changes for you (and ask them to set the permissions sanely at that time).

*Dear Boris
Thank you very much for your help. I suspected something related to permissions, but assumed also as a owner I have been granted with such privilege. * Dimitar

As the owner, you might not have direct write privileges but be able to change the permissions. Try that.
