Hello out there,
I start to have problems with spam on my mediawiki 1.3.9 installation. Perhaps it would be a start to limit editing to people that have a valid ip-address. Or with an address that can be resolved into a name (reverse dns lookup). Are there any sensible methods already implemented? How do you guys prevent the spamming?

There are many people who have no reverse dns.

My wiki is very small, so I could either create an account for the users (and therefore are allowed to edit) or anonymous users need reverse dns. I think that this could be a compromise.
