Hello,
Special:Sidebar should do the trick though; what exactly doesn't work?
Sorry, my bad; it's MediaWiki:Sidebar...
Thanks. I could not access the page MediaWiki:Sidebar, even when I searched for it. It only asked me if I wanted to create the page.
Now if I create a new page, wouldn't my new configuration affect the former configuration?

On current version, there is no page with this name, you have to create.
If you do so, you can modify your Sidebar of your wiki.
Create something like that:
* navigation ** mainpage|mainpage ** recentchanges-url|recentchanges ** currentevents-url|currentevents ** Spezial:Newpages|Neue Artikel ** randompage-url|randompage ** helppage|help
* Categories ** :Category:Main|Main
* Extern ** http://www.google.de/%7CGoogle

As of MediaWiki 1.9.0, default messages aren't used to populate the MediaWiki namespace, so pages there might not exist - this is the case with the default sidebar, for instance. Edit the page as normal, and the default content will be pre-loaded into the edit box.

Hello,
we are evaluating the use of the Semantic Wiki Extension.
While it has great abilities, there is one big disadvantage. We are using templates with the relevant attribute definition.
If you update the template, e.g. add a new attribute, all the articles based on that template need to be opened and saved again.
I was wondering if it would be possible to
a) Either write an extension, where I input the name of the template and this is done automatically (which function would I need to call with php to update an article?)
b) Have it done automaticalley. I noticed, when you change the category of the template, after some processing time all pages using that template are updated and in the new category.
