Ah! Good! I have a fully loaded /languange/ but none of them show up in the
box when I try to install. And the invalid prefix table error message is
still showing.
Checking environment...
* PHP 4.4.0: ok
* PHP server API is apache2handler; ok, using pretty URLs
(index.php/Page_Title)
* Have XML / Latin1-UTF-8 conversion support.
* PHP's memory_limit is 8M. If this is too low, installation may fail!
Warning: preg_match: internal pcre_fullinfo() error -3 in
/srv/www/htdocs/mediawiki/config/index.php on line 279
Attempting to raise limit to 20M... ok.
* No zlib support.
* Turck MMCache not installed, can't use object caching functions
* Couldn't find GD library or ImageMagick; image thumbnailing disabled.
* Installation directory: /srv/www/htdocs/mediawiki
* Script URI path: /mediawiki
Warning: preg_match: internal pcre_fullinfo() error -3 in
/srv/www/htdocs/mediawiki/config/index.php on line 378
Something's not quite right yet; make sure everything below is filled out
correctly.
Anyone?

Language files are located in /languages, e.g. LanguageEn.php,
LanguageDe.php, etc. They're used to populate the initial MediaWiki
namespace, which controls the user interface.

Were is the languages loaded from? Is there a file which is read or are
they
collected from the system?

Has anyone got any idea?
The language box should probably be "en", but it probably indicates
sometrhing worse. Any weird configuration stuff?
