Hi,
I had my database fail last night and I have attempted to import a backup that I made previously, however when I visit any page on my Wiki it comes up blank.
Can anybody shed any light as to why this has occurred?
Regards,
Thomas

i've been having this same issue. I host three wikis, they all crashed with the same thing. different versions too. I kept getting duplicate key errors and ended up dumping the dbs (which still had all the information) and am now having somebody come up with a script to go through, separate out the latest of each article and post it back in through the web interface on a brand new 1.5 install.
When the script is done I'll post it.

My apologies for lack of information.
Im running MediaWiki 1.5.5 (At this stage, im hesitant to upgrade as the hardware im using is a bit flaky and is due for replacement).
I've google searched and looked through Mediawiki's website for a solution to this, but cant seem to find one. I'd like to be able to fix this without having to re-input the data, however, if someone is able to give any clues as how I could get into the backend and get the information direct out of the database, I could re-create it semi manually.
Unfortunatly, my skills arnt with PHP/MySQL (rather ColdFusion/Oracle)

You're still missing a lot of essential information, such as:
* Operating system * MySQL version * PHP version * the exact procedure you used to backup and restore <- very important! * whether you've checked MySQL logs <- very important * whether you've looked up documentation on mysql.com for how to check for and repair damaged tables <- extremely important * whether you've checked web server or PHP debug logs * whether you've looked up documentation on php.net for how to enable logging

phpMyAdmin Export
Try replicating this procedure at home; confirm you can import the data.
