What is the usual activity level of the bugcheckers at the MediaWiki bugzilla site? Is there a whole boatload of people going through the new bug reports, looking for things they can help with, or is there one guy that goes through them every second tuesday? :-)
In short, how many days is normal to expect between posting a bug and seeing a response?
Would I be better off bringing the relevant discussion (that was posted in the bug report) back to the list here, or waiting for something to happen on the Bugzilla site?

1) All bug submissions and changes are notified within several seconds in our IRC channel, which usually has 80-100 people idling in it and several active people. #mediawiki on irc.freenode.net
2) All bug submissions and changes are CC'd to a read-only mailing list. 51 people are subscribed to this list. http://mail.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
I at least see every post every day.

A response could take anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 years, depending on whether it seems a serious issue or catches someone's attention.
Feature requests that no one else is interested in, for instance, may never be commented on.
Minor issues might get treated right away, or might get batched up and acted on in a group, or might get left for someone more interested in it.
Large feature requests might be held off on for months or years before someone chooses to put in the time and effort to do it.
If your issue has not been acted on in a long time, it's not because no one saw it; it's because it was not considered a high priority at the time.
