Thanks, svend (got the following message directly, not in the mailinglist).

1.6.8 doesnt work, 1.9 alpha doent work. 1.8.2 seems to be the same, only 1.7.1 works great.

Strange ... maybe an bug in MW ?

I have had the same problem, my 1.8.2 and svn installation failed, showing only a blank page. I ended up downgrading to: # MediaWiki: 1.7.1 And now everything works.

I had a longer chat with my hosting firm about it, then have traced the proiblems to problems with the cache script. I have raised the issu at mediawiki (support page) and I have gotten no anwser yet.
