AJ,
I think that indeed the MediaWiki code would create a database connection
for every page request.
What I can veryify using the 'mysqladmin status' command in a tight loop
seems to confirm my initial 'educated guess'.
So you might run into trouble if the actual number of connections is too
small or the number of "simultaneous" requests too large. (I believe that
you can configure the wiki to disallow queries that take a long time
running, thereby keeping that connection open).

Hi,
I'm running a site which uses MediaWiki, unfortunately the
number of database connections at a single time is restricted. Does
Mediawiki create a database connection for every single user that logs
into the site? I'm not to sure of how this works and would really
appreciate any feedback I can get on this....
Thanks in advance,
AJ
