Hello to the List,
I am wondering if anyone knows of a way or has experience with "batch" importing templates (like from Wikipedia). I have used the import and export Special Pages with standardized pages, but unfortunately I haven't been able to do it with Templates. There are a number of Templates that require other Templates to properly run and it is extremely time consuming to have to create, cut and paste, the code one page at a time. For example: if I want to copy the Template:Navbox/core, there are a number of other associated Templates that I must also make and copy in order for the Template to work properly.
Does anyone know of a way to copy or import multiple Templates at once?
Thank you very much in advance for your thoughts and help.
Best wishes,
Christopher Merwin
Why not just open up the edit page for the template. A list of pages included into that page is listed at the bottom. Just use that for the export.

Thank you to those who responded,
Unfortunately Wikipedia seems to only allow for the exporting of Article pages, rather than either edit pages or Template pages. So for example, if you go to Special pages: Export pages on Wikipedia, and try and type in, just as an example mentioned earlier:
"Template:Navbox/core", "Template:Navbox/core&action=edit" or the full URL, "http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Navbox/core&action=ed..."
You will be returned with nothing. The Export page simply refreshes. Unfortunately it's the code from the Templates that I want, not the actual article. It can be done manually, it's just extraordinarily time consuming (as you must create, copy and paste each part of each template by hand).
Is it possible to request Dumps of just certain parts? I.e. a dump of the Template namespace rather than the entire site?
Thank you again,
Christopher Merwin

Worked fine for me. Entered
Template:Simpsons_characters
in the textarea at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Export, the template wikitext was returned.
Maybe try unchecking "Offer to save as a file"?

If you just want the article to work and you don't actually need a copy of the templates, you can use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ExpandTemplates instead of exporting each one.
