Hi@All,
I'm trying to implement lucene search to my wiki. The wiki ist used as a intranet solution on a windows system. As windows doesn't support hard and softlinks it's recommanded to use the c# daemon.

But I#ve no idea what to do to get the extension work. Perhaps someone out here could give me some useful hints
regards Mic

It's really frustrating ... why have noone similar problems. O.K. another try: Following the instrutions for the c# searchdaemon I reached the point where I've to compile mwsearch
cd mwsearch make make install
but these are unix commands and I've no idea to do this for windows systems.

As we have Mediawiki/Lucene running under linux I cannot directly answer your question but would point you to the Lucene mailing list where you might get some help.

Hope this helps.

C# is a Microsoft product, so I'd suggest going to the MS website (www.microsoft.com) and then going to their developer web pages for C#. They should have lots of documentation there on C# programming. It could be there's some stuff you have to download and install to make C# programs.
BTW - those are also Windows commands, however, you'd have to have "make" in the path for it to work.

NTFS does support softlinks (only junctions before Vista/Server 2008).

You need the appropiate program. I recommend you using the cygwin's make or the mingw. MS nmake might work but syntax is not so compatible.

make is not installed in default cygwin setup, you need to rerun setup.exe for cygwin and select "make" for installation (actually, you better select the whole "devel" package since you might need other usefull tools such as gcc, g++ and so on) (this will only install the new programs, it doesn't re-install the whole cygwin ;-))
