It should be stable. Note that even trunk is quite stable. There are some wikis running from trunk. The beta has been reviewed and is thought to be good (but if you find any problem we will happily fix it). Wikipedia is running from a modified version of 1.16 (I think it's at a mix between 1.16 and 1.17)
