Teammates,
I am having trouble reinitializing the Special:Statistics page. What am I doing wrong ? How can I troubleshoot ? I am using MediaWiki v1.9.3.
I added an AdminSettings.php file to the wiki root. Then I ran "initStats.php" from the maintenance directory, from the shell. Here is my output, but the numbers are not reset back to 0.
What did I miss here ?
G:\wwwroot-wiki\sete\maintenance>php initStats.php Refresh Site Statistics
Counting total edits...2175 Counting number of articles...56 Counting total pages...67 Counting number of users...6 Counting number of admins...1 Counting number of images...6 Counting total page views...3040
Updating site statistics...done.

Is that what initStats.php is meant to do? I would have thought it was meant to set the stats to the correct values after they have become incorrect for some reason. The stats saying there are 0 articles when that's not true would be very confusing... it could result in negative numbers if a pre-existing article were deleted. If you want to set the stats to 0, I guess you would have to modify the database directly, but the code will probably set them back to the correct values once it realises they are wrong.
I phrased my first request a bit incorrectly. The items the customer would like to reset are things like number of edits, and how many times each page has been viewed, not number of articles.
They would like to track which pages are most popular, and up until now they have just been getting their wiki ready, which is the reason they want to reset some stuff.
thanx, Lori

The following pair of SQL statements ought to do it:
UPDATE `page` SET `page_counter` = 0; UPDATE `site_stats` SET `ss_total_views` = 0;
