Betreff: [Mediawiki-l] Encrypted user login
Hello everybody,
I am using Mediawiki 1.67 with Apache and PHP5 and my question is about
an encrypted user authentication. I want to make sure that user name and
password cannot be seen when e.g. wiki users use public wireless LAN
hotspots.
I found
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Otheus/Auto_Login_via_REMOTE_USER
but it seems to be rather complicated. Is the article above still up to
date or has Mediawiki 1.7 this feature which I have simply to enable via
LocalSettings.php? What do you think is the easiest way to get the
authentication encrypted?
Many thanks,
Stefan Mueller
