Hi,
can I somehow create subwikis? I have a wiki where everyone (with access to the webserver) has access to. I would like to create a new "zone" where I can put other content. Some special persons (that may not have access to the "root" wiki) should have access here.
Is that possible? 2 webservers with two different wiki installations but the content of the second wiki can be accessed/displayed/embedded in the first wiki not only as a link but as full content?
Thanks Helmut
Maybe create new namespaces. You can do all sorts of customizations depending on name space. See http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Using_custom_namespaces .
I'm want to do this on my wiki, and I've started. But I'm not sure I'm doing it well. I'd invite you to look at my site, but it's in Hebrew. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Haim (Howard) Roman Computer Center, Jerusalem College of Technology Phone: 052-8-592-599 (6022 from within Machon Lev)

Unfortunately I have not yet found how to link that namespace to another URL/Location/Wiki, that's what I'm looking for.

This may be of some help. You could then setup the wikis with interwiki links to each other, and transclude the content from one to the other.

Transclusion sounds promising, I'll check.
Thanks, Helmut
Understand. But does it have to be that way? I went with namespaces because "both wikis" would use pretty much the same templates & extensions. This way, I have to write each template or install each extension only once.
Whichever way you go, good luck. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Haim (Howard) Roman Computer Center, Jerusalem College of Technology Phone: 052-8-592-599 (6022 from within Machon Lev)

YES. I have systems in different networks, even distributed over different locations. Currently users have to enter information twice and we all know users won't do that permanently.
