Hi all,
I followed the instructions at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Copying to install the public domain help pages at my wiki. I'm not sure what happened but I think the export process has somehow been tampered with. Please see the results here:
http://lauraogrady.ca/ckbwiki/index.php/Help:Contents
If you scroll through this page you will see that is repeats the same content (Template then Usage).
Has anyone recently installed the help files? If so, did you get it to work?
Also I followed the instructions at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles to grab all the images associate with the help pages. There are literally hundreds of them and it took a considerable amount of time to grab them one file at a time. I haven't uploaded them yet due to the problem with the help pages. My question is could they not be provided in a zip/compressed format for download?
Thanks.

It looks like angle brackets got mangled on import, which is one problem. In addition you might need to install ParserFunctions.

Thank you for your response.

How can I fix this from my end? Wouldn't the export function need to be re-written?
In addition you might need to install ParserFunctions.
The installation page for ParserFunctions states that you need MediaWiki version 1.7.0 or above:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ParserFunctions
According to the home page for MediaWiki the current version is 1.15.1:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki
Is there a mistake at the ParserFunctions page? Should I go ahead and install? Will it make any difference if I try this given the problem with the angle brackets?

I found the instructions for version 1.15.1
http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/mediawiki/tags/REL1_15_1/extensions/Par serFunctions/
Seems like quite the workaround!

1.15 is newer than 1.7. When reading version numbers, treat the period as a divider, not as a decimal point.
As long as you are using a version of MediaWiki newer than 1.7 (which is a few years old), you should be ok.

In addition you might need to install ParserFunctions.
I downloaded the ParserFunctions, unzipped the file and uploaded the contents to my ckbwiki/extensions directory.
I added the line of code as per the instructions (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ParserFunctions):
require_once( "$IP/extensions/ParserFunctions/ParserFunctions.php" );
to the end of my to LocalSettings.php and lost all my wiki functions (e.g. no pages in the wiki would load).
I tried adding this other optional line for integrated String function:
$wgPFEnableStringFunctions = true;
Same problem. Is there a specific place in the LocalSettings.php where these lines should go?
Thanks.
