Hi,
I already installed MediaWIki on Ubuntu and Windows some times and now I would like to install it on SuSE 10.0.
The installation finishes without any problems, but there seems to be a problem with namespaces or whatever, at least I cannot use several links e.g. to log in, view special pages etc., because the link misses the required prefix (e.g. Special).
The link looks like: .../wiki/index.php?title=:Userlogin&returnto=Hauptseite
I used the same archive installing on Ubuntu and there is no problem at all. Does anyone know how to make the wiki up and running?
Thanks and best regards kc

I'm running a few MediaWiki wikis under SUSE 10.1 and didn't have to do anything special. Which file is the link in?

You can have a look at the wiki at
the php config can be seen at:

I'm the one who didn't understand. :(
The link at my "login" is:
http://.../ffwiki/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&returnto=Main_Page
While yours is:
http://www.powdertag.de/wiki/index.php?title=:Userlogin&returnto=Hauptse...
Perhaps the "Special" and "=Main_Page" are necessary? I'm just guessing, as I know very little about MediaWiki other than that it works for me.

Hi,
as this URL is generated by MediaWiki and the prefix is missing for a lot of links there are, in my opinion, several potential causes for this:
- php configuration ( see http://powdertag.de/test.php ) - namespace bug ( initial installation at: http://www.powdertag.de/wiki ) - anything else I don´t know ;-)
If anyone knows what might be the problem it would be great to post it.
Thanks and best regards kc

This is a known bug in PHP 5.0 on 64-bit systems, which was fixed over a year ago.
Upgrade from PHP 5.0 to 5.1 or 5.2.
