Greetings!
I am trying to find out if certain terms are blocked by Mediawiki or if it may be something particular to my host?
I tried putting the following in as part of a wiki page entry: "Through a combination of mystic insight and a natural enhancement of your sense of smell, you gain a near-supernatural ability to detect hidden creatures."
I kept getting a 403 - Forbidden error.
Through trial and error, I found that the term "natural enhancement" was causing this.
Any ideas? Has anyone had similar problems?
If mediawiki was blocking it you would not get a 403 error.

Use a synonym of "enhancement" and you should be fine. "Enhancement" is keyed in tons of spam blockers

Most likely, as the OP's email got flagged as spam by yahoo. I would put money on "natural enhancement of your" and "you gain" being the culprits. :0)

iBiblio had something like that. They even had "socialism" blocked. It's filtering software the host has installed.

It's not mediawiki. Not by default mediawiki, and an extension would probably give you a better error message. Perhaps you have mod_security or other similar module filtering spam at the server or proxy level?
