How does one update mediawiki and installed extensions at the same time? The best I can come up with is: $ svn update . extensions/NewestPages At revision 49225. At revision 49225.
cd /var/www/mediawiki && svn update && for dir in `ls /var/www/mediawiki/extensions`;do cd $dir && svn update;done;

I think that would have to be cd /var/www/mediawiki && svn update && for dir in `ls /var/www/mediawiki/extensions`;do cd "/var/www/mediawiki/$dir" && svn update;done;

Not that either of us have run this.., but its this:
cd /var/www/mediawiki && svn update && for dir in `ls /var/www/mediawiki/extensions`;do cd "/var/www/mediawiki/extensions/$dir" && svn update;done;

Don't ever use 'ls' to generate a word list for use with 'for', it'll hurt yourself when you least expect. This should be enough:
cd /var/www/mediawiki && svn update && for dir in /var/www/mediawiki/extensions/*/ do cd "$dir" && svn update done
Right, because so many of us have tabs newlines and spaces in our filenames - particularly our mediawiki extensions.

'svn up' has always been quite sufficient for us.
Ensure that the 'extensions' subdirectory is an actual working directory, and not some fresh empty directory that you created.

Sorry, the best I can do is $ ls -d . extensions/*|grep -v README|xargs svn up as plain svn up misses the extensions. Maybe that is because I checkout'ed the extensions one at a time after I checkout'ed mediawiki, like I expect most folks do.

Uh oh, xargs will interfere if svn needs to ask you questions, e.g., in the case of conflicts if one has edited any of the files. I removed the extension anyway.
