Hi. I was wondering what RSS readers people on this group have found to be useful in tracking changes to pages. I tried using yahoo's konfabulator and found an RSS news reader but for some reason the software seemed real flakey and I couldn't move the widget.
What I'm looking for is a nice way to get notified of changes without getting my inbox overloaded with change notices or having to keep refreshing the recent changes special page.
I use http://www.rssbandit.org/

Internet Explorer 7 (beta3) has a nice RSS reader built in. I find I even use it regularly, and it is very convenient.
Best wishes, Morten :-)

And Firefox has had the live bookmark feature for as long as I can remember, This works very nicely as well. I put a live bookmark to the rss feed in a top level folder in my personal bookmark folder, the live bookmark looks like a bookmark folder containing the various rss (or atom) items. Beside the feed for my wiki, I've got a "blogs" bookmark folder with all the blogs I follow.
And lately I've been using the firefox MyPortal extension, this builds a nice ajaxy pseudopage with all your bookmarks, with twistys to open and close folders. Very nice
I still want e-mail notification for any additions to my wiki, but that's a separate subject.
Hi, I've attempted to upgrade from some version of 1.6 to 1.7.1, running on Mac OS X 10.4.5 and MySQL 5.0.15.
When I ran the update.php script I got the following message:
Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_OLD_FUNCTION' or `T_FUNCTION' or `T_VAR' or `'}'' in /Library/WebServer/Documents/ wiki/extensions/SpecialWikiFeeds.php on line 74
After removing this extension and the include in LocalSettings.php, and then running update.php again, I got this message:
Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_OLD_FUNCTION' or `T_FUNCTION' or `T_VAR' or `'}'' in /Library/WebServer/Documents/ wiki/includes/Exception.php on line 114
Does anyone know how I can overcome this?
Thanks, Christiaan
Looks like I'm still running PHP 4, and that's probably the problem.
