Hi All,
Well, I'm new to MediaWiki ( previously using MoinMoin WiKi ) ... and now using the latest 1.7.1 version ...
I'm trying to setup security and I cannot understand how to implement this ... I've read many many docs over the internet and it seems that this is not completely implemented right now.
Here are the questions I have :
- How can I affect users to a special group ? cannot see any reference in the mysql "user" table ... - How can I restrict access for reading/editing to pages or group of pages for a specific user or group of user ?
Many thanks,
Best regards,
Arnaud.
Hi again,
Sorry for the previous post, I've just found the solution for affecting users to groups :D ==> Using the following special page : Special:Userrights
Still don't know how to protect a page ...
Best Regards

Thanks for this link Gunter,
I've seen it ...
But, I'd like to know how to protect only ONE page or a GROUP of page across the WiKi.
I've seen an extension "PageProtection" and I've tried it without success ...
Best Regards

Protect it using the "protect" tab (if you are sysop) in the page, which is next to the tabs "discussion", "edit", "history", etc. of every page. You can't protect a group of pages, but only use the "protect" tab for each page.
Hi, thanks for your reply,
But by "protect" I mean "protect for reading" :D
I've used rights acces on namespace to do this, it works perfectly ...
Best Regards
