I thank you for your time and if it is possible please enlighten further more my situation.
I've added $wgHashedUploadDirectory = true; to my LocalSettings.php and I also put a link to a fresh image named english.jpg in the main page ( wiki.kosson.ro) the image as I checked was uploaded here: /images/3/32/english.jpg
Still I don't have any positive feedback from media wiki. I understand firmly that this is a matter of wrong path but with my limited knowledge it seems that I cannot solve it.
Please shed some light and bear with me.

Mediawiki is correctly pointing at that image, but the server doesn't allow it to be viewed http://wiki.kosson.ro/images/3/32/English.jpg gives an error 403 (forbidden). Seems a matter of permissions.
