I planing migrate mi local offline wikipedia to another more powerfull server it have centos5.2 x64 installed by now i can copy compilled math funtions /math directory of old server (debian lenny based) to my new server(centos) to skip the steep of imstalling ocaml and compilling textvc.?? to see math formulas on the wiki i need some recomendations abaut the more ideal linux distribution to run mediawiki

math folder just contains png files. You can copy it happily (or also not copy it and have them be regenerated).
Copying the executable file might work or not. Give it a try and try to run the program. No linux distribution is better suited for mediawiki than others. You could discriminate choosing a distribution that provides modern versions of php and mysql. That's more likely to impact you. And remember *not* to install mediawiki from their package manager.
