Hello all,
I wonder if anyone could point me to the extension (or perhaps I've missed the built-in method) to get featured content on the main page of the wiki, a bit like wikipedia does?
What I'd like to accomplish is to pin one or two articles to the front page and rotate that on a regular basis.
As an aside, I seem to remember a way to view which extensions were used on a particular wiki, but the method now eludes me. Any info greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Sean

I believe they just do this through templates.[1]

I can confirm. It's manually updated every day through a complex system of templates, but nothing automatic.

Ahhh, I see. Thanks for that. Looking like it's out of my range then. Disappointing. it would be a neat feature to have, the ability to push a particular article to the front page. Oh humm...

Hard to be creative when you're not a programmer :0

That's neat. Thank you Mike. I might use that, though I was hoping to be able to pick which articles appear on the main page. Nonetheless, this should be a good start. Thank you

The RandomInclude extension might be what you need: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:RandomInclude

If you don't mind the articles being on all your pages you could put the links in site notice MediaWiki:Sitenotice.
Or in MediaWiki:Sidebar - 'Article of the Day' etc.
