Hi I just finish installing wikimedia and I was able thanks to the howtos to modify some things.. but there are others that I just cant find. if you go to http://www.binaryfreedom.info/wiki.php/Main_Page you will see like in the top left still says "The Free Encyclopedia" and of course I need to change that but I keep grepping the files inside the wikimedia directory and the results I get were that phrase is on I change them but still shows up in the website.. were can I find this entry? if I wanted to add my logo what kind of entry will I have to add and in what php or css file? Thanks.
Hi,
have never seen that before in the skins I tested out before. But when I switch to "Cologne Blue" it appears as well on my site. That's probably part of the skin.
Hope that helps you finding a solution...

Look in the special page for "All system messages" for "sitesubtitle". You can make it what you want from there.

RSS (and atom) feeds are built into several special pages like Recentchanges and Newpages.
For example: http://yourwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Special:Recentchanges&feed=rss
The pages with feeds are also set up so that the livebookmarks feature in firefox will find them.
I don't recall any special configuration needed to make this work.

so in this place I can add for example slashdot news?

No, the RSS support in mediawiki is for publishing changes, not aggrating feeds from other sites.

See Special:Allmessages for a list of interface messages which can be customised. In this case, you want MediaWiki:Mainpage.
