This is just a proof of concept, but it seems to work. This is all done with an extension, nothing was edited in the skin/ code to make it happen.

The categories at the bottom can be edited on the fly, on the article screen. NOT the edit screen. When you save them, it does work, but the output needs fixed. But if you press edit again, you can see that the categories are there.
Removing them using this works as well. Later (going on vacation tomorrow), it will have search suggestion built in. And I will be offering it for download.
I do need to fix the code. Right now, it just uses way too many ajax calls (4) because I cant get the api to call via PHP right now.
Hope you like it.

Just noticed there is an error with the token that causes it not to work for other users right now. Ill have to fix that.
It is fixed now, and I believe working quite well. The only reason I am posting this is I truly believe it is something that many Wiki Admins have wanted for awhile.
Hope you like it.

Hey,
Question from my side, as I do not know php very well. I've added the Widget: Addthis. The button displays perfectly, but how do I change the position of it. I want it to be shown on the right hand side at the top of the page. Currently it shows where I place the code into the page.
Can anyone help me please?
Should one edit your template so that it shows on every page? Where and what template should one change?
Is it a useful tool to 'promote' the contents of your wiki articles/pages?
Thanks!
Regards, Sarel

Spiffy! Any thought to putting the add box inline in the list, might feel a more natural location (same place the cat will be shown once added)?

I broke it :-) I edited the amain page to add a template {{Categorytest}} that has a category [[Cat-test]]. That category shows in the "deletable" list. You can pseudo-delete it, but watch what happens when you click save...
You can probably filter out categories from some templates, but not when they are in <includeonly>, or constructed from template parameters.

Thanks. I added that to a list of things to fix. Im wondering if some of the information like name space can help with this. But it was just a proof of concept. Ideally, something like this would be build in at the core of mediawiki.

hi Adam
Congratulations, I love the concept. This extension improve a lot the usability of a Wiki.
