Hey there!
Is there an extension to protect email adresses from spambots by doing some form of automated JavaScript magic? This would concern both Emailadresse that are written in plain as well as using [[mailto:adress@example.com Foo Bar]]...
Thanks for your input :-)
Florian
I don't know myself, but here are ideas you can give your users to protect them:
* The standard username AT domain DOT org thing * Use Special:Emailuser * Create simple GIFs containing the address and upload them to your wiki.

Dear Gary,
thanks for your reply. As I said, I'm specifically after an /automated/ implementation at the stage where the mail adresse are being parsed...
Also, I think don't think the (as you say) standard AT / DOT trick will "fool" /any/ spam spider anymore...
Anyone else?
Best regards,
Florian :-)

I'm not familiar with an extension, but you can obfuscate your email addresses. See http://alicorna.com/obfuscator.html
I'm not sure if this still works, as I imagine that at some point spammers will design bots to defeat it. But a 2002 study says it does (http://www.cdt.org/speech/spam/030319spamreport.shtml).
