There aren't too many "official" developers. We are mostly volunteers.
I'd second the recommendation to make an AuthPlugin; the authentication plugin framework is pretty tightly integrated.

I guess we do but, it just so happens we're already handling four major forum plug-ins already along with other CMS, gallery and blogging systems soon joining the party. The reason I'm getting in touch is because I'm hoping there might be one or more MediaWiki developers out there interested in developing this type of tight integration with software such as Joomla!, maybe because he/she's got some kind of website that relies on MediaWiki + Joomla! or some type of forum, gallery or blog.
Thanks for the link, we'll be looking into it. Still got our hopes for an official developer or two to get interested though.
