The wfIncrStats() function starts with:
if ($wgDBname != 'enwiki' and $wgDBname != 'dewiki' and $wgDBname != 'commonswiki' and $wgDBname != 'testwiki') return true;
Does your wgDBname happen to be one of these, perhaps "testwiki"?
