I was interested to read that armchairGM.com runs on a version of mediawiki, and that this is to be used in the first instance by the new "openserving" service. I realise that this mediawiki-l list is for the mainstream version of mediawiki, but I was wondering if the possible widespread adoption of what seems to be a fork, might have implications back here eventually?
Wikia is intending to use OpenServing for news and opinions sites since the software has a heavy focus on rating and displaying current and popular events, not for general wiki communities - which will remain at wikia.com and continue to use a version of MediaWiki fairly close to the standard version.
Also while I'm here, can anybody point me to a suitable forum for discussion of the openserving project from a community builders point of view please?
There are wiki-based forums for discussing OpenServing at http://www.openserving.com/wiki/Forum:Index
