Hi Peter,
My current Wiki uses WAMP which I believe does not support email - so I have been working on Ubuntu Server LAMP with Postfix to try to get this working (but not successful yet).
Parallel to this I have discovered XAMPP which does include email support and I am just trying to get this working - I do plan to document whichever of these I manage to get working first but I do not know how soon this will be.
As far as XAMPP goes I am going to try this on XP first - Ubuntu Server 6.06 LAMP with postfix is also going - the email is really the only component that i do not have working - my Ubuntu wiki works fine otherwise with the limited testing that i have done.
I too have not found any wiki related information for setting up a mail server for a wiki.> Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2007 15:04:59 -0400> From: Peter.Monahon@USPTO.GOV> To: mediawiki-l@lists.wikimedia.org> Subject: [Mediawiki-l] SMTP settings in LocalSetting.php> > > Hi fellow MediaWiki admins,> > (Ooops, sorry for the duplicate post to wikitech-l - I've not written in> a while and my email "To..." field auto filled in the wrong address - my> bad!),> > I'm having difficulty setting up SMTP email notification under> MediaWiki.
