So you want text to wrap around the TOC? Or a table? It can be done pretty easy via CSS. On regular tables, give them the class "tright" or "tleft". On TOCs, edit MediaWiki:Monobook.css to include the property "float: right" or "float: left" for #toc.
You can also put "align=right" in a table. See how the images are vertically aligned and floated on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X11 . (I often lay stuff out using an image to fill that yawning void next to the TOC.) Then it'll work for all skins.
