I do not intend to give SEO advice...
however, if you want some, here is the best SEO advice you will find anywhere: Add new pages with original and interesting content to your encyclopedia every day.
If you're not adding new content every day that isn't found elsewhere on the Internet, you may as well throw out every other "SEO" tip you've been given.

Hi Brian, but everyone is using Main Page. Actually I used "Free Simplified Online Encyclopedia." 221 entries for "simplified encyclopedia" in Google Search, and none for "simplified online encyclopedia" Would you think that "Free Simplified Encyclopedia" would be more effective?
By the way, my encyclopedia is so new that it has so many red links. Does it hurt my search engine crawl?

'free' 'online' 'encyclopedia' are some of the most generic, washed out terms on the Internet. You should fire your SEO - you will be forced to compete directly with Wikipedia.
At any rate, Linda, you can turn off the Main Page header by adding this
to
MediaWiki:Common.css
/* don't display Main Page on the Main Page */ body.page-Main_Page h1.firstHeading { display:none; }
Then add = Whatever = at the top of the wikitext.
Cheers,

Hi, my main page url currently reads:
http://www.dummipedia.org/Main_Page
My SEO advisor has advised me to changed "Main Page" to "free online encyclopedia". Is there any way to do that?
Thank you.
