On the one hand, I'd agree with Fernando here.
On the other hand though, I have to admit that I, too, feel somewhat uneasy about the exposure of my real name here. So I'm glad to hear that this exposure is only temporary (or is it - Google retains its index/cache for quite a long time, doesn't it?). Sure, I could have used an alias for posting on this list, but I think that's often considered impolite. After all, due to the "push factor", mailing lists are a little more personal than message boards or forums.

That's sad. Now people looking for information on MediaWiki using search engines won't find the valuable info of this list. I've used that several times to learn about MediaWiki.
