Get value from URL

Good afternoon everyone, Is there a way to set the current page name as a query string to a form edit link, and then have the form set that value as the default value for a combo box? I want the page name they are opening the form from set as a property on the new page. I saw the extension "UrlGetParameters", but wondering if there is a way to do it without installing the extension. If anyone could help out, that would be much appreciated. How to see ImportWizard

Hi, I should want to use the wikimedia commons import wizard on my mediawiki https://drivrsdu.fr/dicof/w I have installed ImportWizard : I can see it in my version page : https://drivrsdu.fr/dicof/w/index.php/Sp%C3%A9cial:Version But I can't see it when I want to import something : It's always the old import system. What I am missing ? MobileFrontend disruption: Plans to break Minerva out into its own repository

Dear all Back in 2014, Legoktm made the sensible suggestion [1] that we should pull the skin portion of code from the MobileFrontend extension. I've spent the last few months making it possible and I now plan to make this a reality. I now plan to make this change on the 12th&13th July with Chad (RainbowSprinkles) [2]. I'm writing to give notice; answer questions and minimise the disruption that may cause. A while back when Vector was pulled out of MediaWiki core, there was a little bit of pain so I'm keen to help people avoid this. *Developers:* Please make sure you update vagrant. Vagrant will install the new skin as part of the MobileFrontend role and provided you do `vagrant git-update` you will not experience any breakage. If you are not using Vagrant, please install the new skin [3] and load it using wfLoadSkin (after including MobileFrontend extension). When MobileFrontend stops working thats a sign you need to pull the latest code from Master. *3rd parties who are using MobileFrontend in deployed wikis* Please be aware of this change when updating MobileFrontend. To be safe you should install the MinervaNeue skin [3] as part of your deploy process and keep an eye on compatibility. The MinervaNeue skin and MobileFrontend are being kept backwards compatibility to ensure we do not break anything in Wikimedia's production cluster, which is detailed in the Phabricator task [4]. *Translators* As part of the migration I will be porting over translations to the new skin from MobileFrontend. There may be some changes to the message keys during this period of time so please bare this in mind when translating. The goal is to avoid unnecessary translations! *Why are you doing this?!!?* I've tried to write up this here [5]. Feel free to ask questions on the talk page there. It's a good conversation to have. *Can I just use MobileFrontend?* Sure. php rebuildFileCache.php

Just a situation I find myself in. I recently started trying to improve the speed of performance of my mediawiki site. To do so I installed varnish, and set up memcached to run on that server. debian Linux 8 with php7 from backports. Now I got all of the update done and checked to see that the server was running OK: the last step was to rebuild the caching files using the command php rebuildFileCache.php. I've used this before with no complications however this time it filled up my entire diskdrive 923GB and I'm not sure what to do the clean up my mess. The entire system will boot up but the drive is so bloated that I cant even log in in the xterminal desktop. I do have full access as root on the regular terminal. I would really appreciate any tips to handle this. Installing Mediawiki

So I have been primarily using just the core mediawiki setup. But as time passes and I see more and more advanced systems integrated into mediawiki, getting a "Standard" or common setup of mediawiki is getting harder and harder for basic users to deploy. We are now getting into requiring restbase, parsoid, composer and probably a few other systems that I am not recalling at the moment. What does the community think about getting something together that simplifies/automates this? What I am thinking is something that could be used on a newly created box that installs and configures the needed components in a "standard" configuration? Right now the setup is less than straight forward, you go to add Extension:Math (which has been a simple project until recently). Where you are told it needs Restbase, and mathiod. We actually include the wording *Unfortunately, there is no well tested guide on installing Mathoid <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Mathoid> and Restbase <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Restbase> to work with the Math extension *If we don't even have a good guide why have we converted a very high use extension to that? We then forward them to docs spread out between mediawiki.org wikitech, and the vendor's website. More and more users are hitting brick walls and giving up because they cannot figure out how to get these different systems talking to each other. Ideally we would have install/config scripts for at least Debian and Ubuntu systems with CentOS probably being the next highest used distro.

I have a problem in the template {{fullurl}}. when I'm using it, it say: "wrong title": https://www.betmidrash.org.il/index.php?title=%25D7%25AA%25D7%2591%25D7%25A… I asked it here before, but I didnt get a well answer. somebody told me that maybe I have a mistake in the conversion of the encoding, but I'm not familiar with it. someone here can help me? Thank's.

Cannot Log In To Wiki

It seems to be a common problem, but I haven't been able to log into my own wiki. I also set the wiki up so you need to be logged in to edit, so this is a big problem for me. When I try logging in, a message appears saying that the action has been cancelled to prevent Session Hijacking, on something like that. When I tried to find out how to fix it, I noticed that it could be a number of problems as many others have had the same message appear, usually for different reasons. Anyway, I would the error to be fixed if possible so I may work on the wiki. The wiki in question is the World Nudism Database.
