Messages not available client-side

I'm sometimes getting the message code instead of the message text in JS using mw.message(...).text(). The messages in question are declared in the RL module declaration. This happens when doing a normal reload (F5), not when doing a full reload (Ctrl+F5), so I guess reloading the module from the net instead of from cache gives mw the time to actually set up the messages. Is there a module I need to/should/could wait for? I thought RL was making sure that basic modules like mw and jquery were available before loading/running other stuff? Cheers Stephan

Page counts in the list of categories

A small group of people in Philadelphia publish http://wikidelphia.org It's primarily an index to Philadelphia web sites. The category system we use is unique so I'm wondering if it might be possible to add a feature to the display of each category at the bottom of each page. I'd like each category to show it's usage info like this: Is-Church (14 C, 31 P) Above, I've shown what I'd like to see for each category on each and every page... That way, people looking at a page would know how many results will come up when clicking on a particular category on the list at the bottom of each page. As an example here is how I'd like to see the categories displayed for the page "Career Wardrobe" http://wikidelphia.org/wiki/Career_Wardrobe Categories: Does-Free Clothing (2 P) | Is-Clothing Store (5 P) | Is-Nonprofit Organization (401 P) | Is-Social Enterprise (7 P) | Is-Social Service (118 P) | Is-Store (4 P) | Is-Thrift Store (2 P) | Sells-Clothing (7 P) | Sells-Clothing Accessories (6 P) | Serves-Unemployed People (28 P) | Serves-Women (23 P) |Serves-Women In Transition (6 P) (they don't need to be in BOLD, and please excuse any typos in the above, it was done in a text editor as I was falling asleep) I think Wikidelphia will be more exciting if when someone looks at a page, they can instantly know if a category is a large one, a small one, or somewhere in between. In the above example, it's clear that Is-Social Service and Is-Nonprofit Organization are both very popular categories. Let me know if you have any ideas about how to accomplish this change. edit sections with different forms

Hello.. I have a template that creates a page with multiple sections. Presently I can assign a single form to edit the entire page with, but I would prefer to assign individual forms for each section. Is this possible? Ty, -Rich

fixing "Pages with ignored display titles"

Hello.. I have been playing with the magic word {{DISPLAYTITLE:title}} and I was supplying values of "title" that included brackets such as: {{DISPLAYTITLE:Me[admin]}} As you might expect, this resulted in the page automatically being categorized as "Pages with ignored display titles".. which is clear to me now why. I have since fixed the wiki-text of the magic word to be a valid title (e.g. {{DISPLAYTITLE:Me, admin}} , However.. the page will not remove itself from the "Pages with ignored display titles" category. How does one "fix" or "repair" the list of valid and ignored titles. Is there a maintenance script for this? Thank you -Rich

Heiya, I find this e-mail disturbing. The last point release was done end of April with about 20 backports to the 1.28 branch done since. They have not yet been released. Moreover 1.28 was released basically at the very end of November last year so we are now down to eleven months of support? Am I the only one with this impression? Is there any way I can do a least a little bit of planning? using $wgAutopromote based on session header variable

Hello and Happy Friday! In the Localsettings.php of a private enterprise mediawiki site I am developing I have a access to a visitor's session header variable called "$HTTP_EMPLOYER ". I would like to automatically add users to a group called "approved-user" if the value of $HTTP_EMPLOYER matches the right text value. Assuming it can be done, can anyone guide me on how to use the $wgAutopromote variable[1] in Localsettings to automatically add users to a group based on a PHP condition that is not a predefined constant by mediawiki? move basic user rights to custom groups for EMW

Hello, How can I remove a basic user right available to all by default (say, "editmyusercss") , and add it as a right only available to a custom group that only Bureaucrats can assign users to? Thank you. Ultimately, what I'm trying to do is for a private enterprise mediawiki (EMW). I want to be able to allow all externally authenticated users visting my site to be autoregistered (autocreateaccount), but I want to authorize them to view content based on other session data available to me. My goal is to set my site up to deny all of the basic default privledges that come with merely being a registered user on the site and then to auto add users to specific custom groups based on additional identification data I get from the browser session header. I think I can do all this once I know how to create custom groups and remove default basic rights to the custom groups from the localsettings.php file. Then I can manually assign users to custom groups and work on being able to autoassign users to groups later. Thank you! -Rich
