Intermittent DB errors (Maria DB).

I am getting this message.. ***** Sorry! This site is experiencing technical difficulties. Try waiting a few minutes and reloading. (Cannot contact the database server) You can try searching via Google in the meantime. Note that their indexes ..... ***************** But not very often. Comes and goes. Where do I look for debugging information? The Apache logs don't help. Apache 2.2 MediaWiki 1.23.3 PHP 5.4.4-14+deb7u14 (cgi-fcgi) MariaDB 5.5.39-MariaDB-1~wheezy Gordo

MediaWiki Consultant?

Dear all, Does anyone know mediawiki consultant? I think i need to fix many things on my mediawiki page. - My wiki website ever had attack by Spam Bot, so i want to clean it up from spam pages.. - I want to have the best spam protection, i ever implement Google Captcha but still got alot of spams - I need to upgrade my mediawiki version to the newest - I need to redesign my wiki website skin; just simple one.. like this: http://www.peacockcarter.co.uk/images/portfolio/petrowiki_responsive-mediaw… So, on the right side i can put some of my ads banner or google adsense banner. If can export all pages would be nice, but if can not, i will do it my self, i will backup & restore it one by one. I think, this enough for 1st project.. my budget is about 100 USD ++ Payment through PayPal Next several months, maybe after saving some money.. i will need to integrate my wiki page to Facebook / Twitter. How to fix autodiscovery error

Hello everyone, and thanks in advance I have almost a month trying to update to Mediawiki 1.23.3, but always appear the message of error in autodiscovery skins. I have removed old skins, and all are in same situation. Can anyone tell me how to fix it, I am dummy so please help me like if I were a kid. Thanks in advance.

automatic category feeds into mediawiki?

I have a large number of hierarchical product types that I'd like to automatically feed into our wiki as hierarchical categories (category tree). How would I do this? Can I have the product types generated as an XML file and populate a table in MediaWiki? My first thought is to write an extension to handle this, as one doesn't jump out at me as already existing. Unique file upload names

Hi I doubt there is an easy to do this, but I thought I would throw it out there. I'm looking for away for file uploads to be automatically named in an unique way when uploaded. Currently I have users who overwrite other photos by uploading photos with bland names, like:logo. I use semantic forms that does have this feature, but only if you set the mime type. Need to find an easier method that doesn't force the user to figure out if the photo they're uploading is a jeg. gif, png, etc. Anyways anyone have any thoughts on this? Maybe a way to automatically add a time date stamp to the file's name? Or any other thoughts? Thanks

hello, can you please help me with this: I recently installed mediawiki on Centos6.5 and after following the instructions for adding HTML and JS to wikipages: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Adding_HTML_to_wiki_pages (the page was last modified on 22 August 2014, at 21:10.) I can't use no simple javascript with wikimedia ... First I checked in LocalSettings.php: $wgUseSiteJs = true; $wgAllowUserJs = true; $wgAllowUserCss = true; My Mediawiki is completely empty so I put Inside MediaWiki:YourScript.js nothing else than: var helloWorld = document.getElementById('helloWorldID'); newPageElement.innerHTML = '<script type="text/javascript"> document.write('<b>Hello World</b>'); </script>'; also in MediaWiki:Common.js I have just one single code: importScript('MediaWiki:YourScript.js'); and for the Template:helloWorld I did only that: <div id="helloWorldID"></div> and in MediaWiki:YourScript it stand one word: {{helloWorld}} ... nothing happens (also after refresh, shift f5 etc.)

Hello, I'm still wondering why javascript won't work wiht me ...I try a toolbar modification now. [wiki co-op] Revised description
